Adobe Moon in the City...

There will be, yet another, Full Moon on January 10, 2009 at 7:27 PM in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It is called the Full Wolf Moon according to some Native Americans.

"Historically the Native Americans who lived in the area that is now the northern and eastern United States kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to the recurring full Moons. Each full Moon name was applied to the entire month in which it occurred. These names, and some variations, were used by the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior."

"This full Moon [Full Wolf Moon - January 2009] appeared when wolves howled in hunger outside the villages. It is also known as the Old Moon. To some Native American tribes, this was the Snow Moon, but most applied that name to the next full Moon, in February."  read more from The Farmer's Almanac...

Wynn Encore

photo is from flipchip - lasvegasvegas.com

Wynn/Encore opened December 22, 2008 in Las Vegas.

"Las Vegas' biggest snowstorm in 30 years kept Courtland Campbell and his friends in town long enough to attend the opening of the $2.3 billion Encore on Monday night.

Security measures kept him in the cold an extra hour.

Steve Wynn's newest property opened to the public at 8 p.m. Monday with nearly 800 people braving temperatures in the 40s and wind gusts along the Strip. Hundreds more waited inside along the hallway connecting Wynn Las Vegas with the newest property."

Soups ON...

The California Pizza Kitchen at the mirage is not unlike a stage where you can perform or at least watch others perform.  The restaurant is an elevateted circular structure in the middle of an ocean of slot and video machines.  I can imagine you performing there, while I devour one of their custom pizzas or Focaccias ($7.50.)
